Love’s Labour’s Lost

ImageWent and saw a student production of Love’s Labour’s Lost at UT. It was an excellent production. It was a play I had not read or seen before. Granted the story is mostly given away in the synopsis. Four men swear off women for 3 years in order to study. Of course, then they immediately meet their one and only.

This production was set in the early 1950s. Generally, I don’t like modern version when the still follow the exact script and Shakespearean language. This time they managed to pull it off. Adorable costumes, think poofy formal wear for the ladies and awesome hats and make-up.

It was in the B. Iden Payne Theatre on campus which was new to me. I got to sit in the second row as it was general admission. A bit long for a play that started at 8pm, but on a Saturday I can live with being out a bit late.
