Farmer’s Market Austin

This weekend I managed to go to two farmer’s markets here in Austin. We are a little spoiled for choice and have at least 4 location on any given Saturday.

I made it to the Barton Creek Farmer’s Market which is in the parking lot of Barton Creek Mall every Saturday from 9am to 1pm. They have a lovely view of the downtown skyline. Usually has 15 to 20 vendors and a few hot food places. And it even has a portable ATM in case you are like me and get there and then think. oh no I don’t have cash to buy my veggies.

I bought spinach, potatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts and onions. I also got two breakfast tacos from the Tacodeli booth. They also had some garden plants from one vendor, handmade cheese from another as well of the all important cupcakes. There is also live music and a little seating area. Decent prices and the vendors are friendly and local.

I also managed to catch the tail end of the Burnet Farmer’s Market and the beginning of their Flee Market. Farmers market is every Saturday from 9am to 1pm (sensing a pattern here?) and the Flea Market is 1pm tp 3pm. They have a charming location in the historic site where Travis County Farmer’s Market used to be. They seemed to have a few less vendors though but it was 12:50pm so maybe they had packed up already. I got some delicious  strawberries and some tomatoes.
