Vintage Costume Collection Auction

I was reading about a lucky blogger that got to go to the auction for the pieces from the Boston Museum’s Costume collection.

What amazing pieces they had! I can’t imagine getting to see all these beautiful pieces in one place, let alone have the chance to purchase one. You can view the items at the auction sites website, though they’ve already sold. Lovely dresses, ball gowns, hats, shoes, and textiles from the 1830s up to the 1970s.

You can also check out your local museums to see if they might have similar collections. Also big auction house’s like Christie’s or Sotherby’s often have preview photos up as well. My local museum has a traveling exhibit coming in May of film costume which should be interesting.
