A Thread Runs Through It

I picked up a few nice sewing supplies at my last estate sale. Amoung them are some nice old wooden spools of thread. And one pale pink ribbon which I at first thought was thread.

Apparently, there are a lot of people who collect vintage thread. And tons of research on brands and labels. The ones I have are a mix of sticker labels and stamped wooden spools. There are some from Coats and Clarks which is still in business. And some from before they merged from just Clarks. One from Talon and one from Belding Corticelli . They are all boilfast, ie don’t loose their color when washed. Mercanized aka made for machine use. And the tough one ONT which stands for Our New Thread which they have been calling it since 1864. The colors I found are blue, red, white, pink, black and olive green.
