1940’s Color Photo

Here is a great color photo from the Library of Congress of a rural family in 1940’s New Mexico.

The Farm Security Administration in the 1930s and 40s sent photographers to document the plight of the rural farmer during the Great Depression and the progress of New Deal programs. When the U.S. entered World War II, the photography program continued under the Office of War Information (OWI). Mostly in B&W but there are some awesome color ones as well.

These helped me so much in trying to imagine what things *really* looked like then. Thank you!
